Sending the Believer Out!

Picture
To Mold comes in a variety of ideas.  To mold something is to take the original and reshape it into the form that is desired.  Therefore, once the item has been reshaped then there are requirements placed on that object.  As a disciple once they have determined that they are ready to be a disciple-maker, then they have certain requirements that they need to fulfill.
To Send requires:
  • Requires honing our Walk-n-Talk Jesus Lifestyle 24/7.
  • Requires developing confidence in facilitating, teaching, witnessing, service and love.
  • Requires developing a weekly meeting with individuals.
  • Requires an intimate relationship with Jesus Himself.
  • Requires showing evidence of spiritual maturity.

To Send requires that they hone the Walk-n-Talk Jesus Lifestyle 24/7.  To “hone” as defined by Noah Webster is “a stone of fine grit, used to sharpen instruments that require a fine edge” (Webster 1828 Dictionary).  To Send requires that we as believers hone our lifestyle or sharpen our lifestyle as a Christian.  To hone a Walk-n-Talk lifestyle is to first lay aside the old self, second, be renewed in the spirit so that influences our whole manner of thinking; and third, this lifestyle is seen in how we conduct ourselves with believers and non-believers.
To Send requires that they continue to develop confidence in Time with Jesus, Experiencing the Bible, Worship, Prayer, Service, and Sharing My Faith 24/7.  To develop confidence means that the disciple becomes a “self-feeder” of God’s Word.  To literally feed on God’s Word 24/7 requires a) have a consistent daily time – no misses; b) have a consistent reading of God’s Word, and it doesn’t need to be a specific time but you do need to make time; c) have a regimented series of readings that you are reading; d) have a series of trusted tools that help you understand what you are reading; e) have a partner that your study with for two give a great perspective on what is being read; f) pray through scripture for this provides an intimacy with God and His Word.  Becoming a “self-feeder” of God Word then the areas of Time with Jesus, Experiencing the Bible, Worship, Prayer, Service, and Sharing My Faith 24/7 gain the confidence that we need.

To Send requires that they develop a weekly schedule of meetings with individuals to secure the new disciple’s walk with Jesus, daily.  According to Jessica Lin’s blog { https://bit.ly/3mSfftF } the average interactions for any adult in a given day based on individual circumstances will be from 15 to 25 people.  If George Barna of Barna Research is correct that 80% of USA register themselves as Christian, then that divides the number between 12 to 20 people per day that are “Christian”.  Either way we have 15 to 25 encounters that provide us opportunities to Walk-n-Talk Jesus with each person.  The Great Commission never stipulated that we are to speak to only 80% of the people that we would interact with on a given day, we are to interact with every one of them.

To Send requires an intimate living relationship with Jesus that is transforming their daily world.  “I urge your therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing on your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is,”.  Transformation starts with an intimate relationship with Jesus and devoting ourselves to uninterrupted time with Jesus.  God promises that transformation and relationship starts with Him putting a new heart in each one of us (Ezekiel 36:26).  This intimacy continues when through Jesus we are “being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another (2 Corinthians 3:18).  Theologians call this process ‘sanctification’, or the act of consecrating or of setting apart for a sacred purpose (Webster 1828 Dictionary).  Paul further commands us to “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him . . . . bearing fruit . . . . and increasing in knowledge”(Colossians 1:10).   This transformation is a work in progress both 24/7, and for the rest of our lives as we “increase in the knowledge of God”.

To Send requires evidence of spiritual maturity until we all attain to . . . . mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13).  This idea of attaining to the fulness of Christ demonstrates a continuous supply, filling, full complement.  To Send requires spiritual maturity and takes time helping both the individual and those around them see “fruits of the Spirit” (Galatians 5:22-23).  Then comes the “mature manhood”, which is defined as “having reached its end, complete, and perfect” (Strong’s 5046 – teleios).  To Send requires evidence of maturity, someone who has reached the finish line.   Verse 14 continues that thought of maturity, for To Send requires that the individual no longer acts like a child, that gets tossed by every wind of doctrine.  Whether it be school, sports, work, or family; there is the expectation that each individual needs to show evidence of maturity.  The writer of Hebrews is emphatic in his words to the Jewish believers.  “In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God”(Hebrews 5:12).  Jesus allowed the apostles and disciples to grow in their faith.  He does the same for every person who chooses to believe in Him.  The reality it that a disciple-maker needs to place the evidence of spiritual maturity in front of the disciple so that they “attain to  . . . . mature manhood, . . . . of Christ
